Ayman Story
Ayman Walker Arif was born in May 3, 2002 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles, California, USA. He could only live 5 years, 5 months, and 7 days. He was very good looking, smart, and kind hearted boy who was his father’s best friend. He attended Napa Street, and Lorne Street Elementary School (Northridge, California). He was killed by two reckless drivers on October 9, 2007 in Van Nuys, California.

On Tuesday, October 9, 2007, the killing occurred in the area of Sherman Way and Amestoy Avenue, in Van Nuys, CA. Around 3:00 PM, a black Nissan Maxima was speeding westbound on Sherman Way when it collided with a red Chevrolet Camaro and three other parked vehicles. Ayman Arif, his 31 years old mother Syeda Arif, and his 3 months old little sister Ikra Arif (uninvolved bystanders) were standing next to the parked cars struck by the Maxima. Witnesses stated that the drivers of the Nissan and Camaro were involved in an occurrence of road rage at the time of the collision. It is believed that rage was a significant contributor to the cause of the crash.

The authority said Ayon (driving the Nissan Maxima) plowed into the rear of a parked car, knocking it into a second parked car. Syeda Arif and her baby daughter Ikra Arif were crushed between the two parked cars. That car then flown to the side walk where Ayman were standing, hit him in the chest that caused him flown back & hit his head by a street palm tree. They sustained severe injuries and were rushed by paramedics to local hospitals

The driver of the Maxima remained at the scene of the accident and was taken into custody without incident. He is Armando Gamboa Ayon, 19, of Pacoima. The driver of the Camaro, Brian Gilbert Barnes, 44, of Northridge left the scene, later surrendered at Valley Traffic Division accompanied by his attorney. Both drivers were booked and charged with Attempt Murder 187-PC and are being held on bail of $1.5 million each.

Syeda Arif lost his left leg from above knee. Her right knee was separated & all 3 ligaments were damaged. She also sustained multiple fractures in her pelvic bones and left arm & shoulder.

Ikra Arif (the 3 months old baby girl) sustained head injury, and multiple fractures in her left arm, and right hand.

On Wednesday, October 10, 2007 Ayman Arif died in UCLA Mattel Children Hospital. He was buried in Peirce Brothers & Valhalla cemetery in North Hollywood on October 12, 2007.

During his death, he left his 31-yeasr-old mother in Northridge Hospital Trauma Center and 3-months old sister in Los Angeles Children Hospital at critical condition; and his 37 years old father, Amir Arif with hopeless from this tragic accident.
